I'm seeing much assault on our holy word, the Bible, of late. I'd like to set the record straight as far as I understand it. This article covers two major deceptions you have to deal with in this day and age, and not just these two particular subjects but for every aspect of your own life you will find deceit creeping in trying to pull you away from God. One issue is 'creation and how long it took'; the other is 'can we believe the Bible as the truly inspired word of God'? Perhaps I should have done separate articles but both answers are IN the Bible so I'm going with the flow as the Spirit leads me. Both of the misleading views of modern society weigh heavily on my heart, for if you believe in evolution and that the world/universe is millions/billions of years old, then you call God a liar. If you believe that mankind's corruptness supercedes God holiness, and if you believe it's impossible for Him to get His written word down to us intact today, then you are deceived. I'm sorry if that hurts, the truth often does. If you can bear up though, please continue to read, but be advised that I will be using the Bible (KJV) for my defense against these fallacies!

Starting with creation, our world and in fact our universe as well as all living creatures, were created in 6 days (Gen 1:1-31), as recorded by the Bible. Heaven and earth (Gen 1:1-2) were created BEFORE the sun, moon & stars (Gen 1:14-18), I have already written an article in defense of this. The world (planet earth) was formless and void, it was all water until the waters were separated into the waters above (clouds/myst) and the waters below, which were gathered together and called seas (Gen 1:6-10). The world is not *millions or billions of years old* that's just hogwash! Deception. No matter what modern science espounds, may I suggest you believe God's word above all!? 1Cr 3:19 "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness."

Even if we could put the slant on it as read in 2Pe 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.", that still means the earth is only about 12,000 years old tops (6 days x 1,000 years each = 6,000 + 6,000 years since the end of the last created day = 12,000 years). But even to believe this theory is to doubt that God who is all powerful, all knowing, omniscient, can create what He said He did in the time He said He did it. I choose to believe the world is no more than approximately 6,000 years old. If I'm wrong, God will let me know when we meet in heaven ... amen!?

Those of you that claim to be Christians give some serious thought to what you believe regarding the first book of the Bible (Genesis) for if you don't believe it's true that God can and did make all things in six days and rested on the seventh, then what is the foundation of your faith? God is GOD. As the saying goes, "If God said it, I believe it, nuff said!" ... does that apply to you? God made the heavens and the earth and all other things including all life therein, and then after each day's work was ended God Himself said "it is good". What are you doubting if not the very word of God? Are you so narrow-minded that you think God couldn't possibly make our planet in one day? What kind of limited god do you serve? My God can and did make not only the earth but also heaven ... in ONE DAY, He was busy for all six days ... and on the seventh day He rested from all His works ... simple!

Let me tell you WHO does not want you to believe God ... satan, the devil, that serpent of old who deceived Eve. How did he deceive her? Look it up in your Bible! He starts out with a question, putting doubt into her mind as to what God said, Gen 3:1 "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" <<< a question, the seed of doubt!

She verifies that is indeed what the Lord said, Gen 3:2-3 "And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."

He counters with a blantant lie, he contradicts God, and deepens the deception, Gen 3:4-5 "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." We DID die, for in that day we chose death over life, we chose eternal separation from God! The deception worked as we see next ...

Gen 3:6-7 "And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons." Have you ever really pondered this? The eyes of both of them were *opened* and they knew they were naked ... verses what? What did they previously have to compare to to be other than naked?

Thankfully God knew we would choose wrong (satan himself had set that example already) and before the foundations of the earth He had it planned that He would send His Son, Jesus the Christ, to defeat eternal death (separation from God) and redeem us to Himself. The devil tried these same deceptive tactics on Jesus during His 40 days in the wilderness, that was a 40 day fast as well. His temptations occured when He was weak and hungry and yet He mastered them all by quoting what? THE HOLY SCRIPTURES! Have you ever tried a 40 day fast? We're weak in our normal state, I can't imagine this scenerio, I can almost be sure I'd of cracked on the first temptation! Here's the questions & temptations satan posed, and our Lord's answers ...

Mat 4:1-3 "Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread." <<< The question, attempting to plant a seed of doubt in Jesus as to His divinity, followed by temptation to use His Godly powers. The devil did a similar questioning-statement to Eve and she failed right off the bat! Jesus answers ...
Mat 4:4 "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
The devil continues his assault against Jesus, Mat 4:5-6 "Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dashthy foot against a stone." It's important to note here that satan actually left out part of a sentence! The full passage should be this: Psa 91:11-12 "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." The part he *left behind* (out) was: "to keep thee in all thy ways." See, the devil knows the Bible, but apparently he chose to leave this important part of the scripture out! He again starts with a question, attempting to make Jesus doubt His divinity, followed by a temptation, backed up with incorrectly quoted scripture. Our Lord replies ...
Mat 4:7 "Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God."
Again satan tries, but now it's a full blown bribe, here's that crafty devil again ... Mat 4:8-9 "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." Oh, he didn't start with a question this time, he's going in for the kill ... he's trying to appeal to Jesus' human nature, His *greedy side* if there be one ... he makes a promise to Jesus that He can have it ALL if He'll just bow down and worship him (in effect turning His back on God) ... that was within His right to ask by the way, he is the prince of this world for now. I think our Lord has finally had it, He's out of patience with His tempter as we see here ...
Mat 4:10-11 "Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."
Let's examine these temptations in a list shall we?

Gen 3:1 The devil asks Eve a desceptive question
Gen 3:2-3 Eve replies with what the Lord had commanded
Gen 3:4-5 The devil blatantly contradicts the Lord, causing Eve to doubt
Gen 3:6-7 Eve covets (wants what she should not) and the rest is history

Mat 4:1-3 The devil starts off with a question-statement & temptation, "if thou be"
Mat 4:4 Jesus quotes scripture
Mat 4:5-6 Again the question-statement & temptation "if thou be", and leaves out a key sentence while quoting scripture
Mat 4:7 Jesus quotes scripture
Mat 4:8-9 Seeing that a doubting question isn't working he now offers Him the world (since it was in his control to do so)
if He'll bow down and worship him (rather than God)
Mat 4:10-11 Our Lord tells him to *kiss off* and once again quotes scripture!

Do you notice the stark difference in the way these temptations were handled? Which route should we take? I think it's obvious we should take the route Jesus did, whenever we are tempted we need to go to the scriptures, not rely on ourselves or our own understanding but directly quote and believe God's word! Do you see where I'm coming from??? Folks, don't believe everything you hear! You have to believe that the Bible IS the true and living word of God, Jesus believed it! In particular the King James Version (for our day) which is closest to the original languages ... other more current translations, including the very newest ones, are missing or have changed words that they surely should not have! Have more than one translation/version, but of those include the KJV!

I could go on quoting the entire chapter or book, but by now you should get what I am trying to put across. The devil wants nothing more than to deceive you and will do it in any way he finds you vulnerable. If you open yourself to believing in things not supported in the Bible, like evolution, then you open yourself to him and his demons. We all must be careful in these end times to guard ourselves against his deceit and stick to the word of God, the Holy Bible. I maintain this truth: Luk 18:8 "I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" Think about it friends, why would Jesus say that??? I've written an article covering this subject also, it's imparative that you understand this verse! We allow ourselves to be led by our nose rings instead of proving all things as we were advized to do in 1Th 5:21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

I'm sorry, I cannot give you the mamby pamby version you might be accustomed to, coated with sugar and cream but full of poison within. I'm not asking you to believe me, I'm asking you to believe God, His written word! It's those very sugar coated lies that are leading good intentioned Christians astray, and it's so sad! If you don't believe that the Bible we have today is accurate because it's written by mankind and we're fallible, subject to giving misinterpretations and outright lies by translating over the years, then you are sorely mistaken, you need to get into God with some serious prayer time! I must admit, I had believed this same deception, so I'm not in any way being judgmental, I'm just trying to help you open your eyes and ears. For me, thankfully, in my walk with the Lord, He has shown me that what I previously believed about the Bible's accuracy was totally incorrect. I have always read my Bible, even though I wasn't sure I could *really trust it*. I have found over time, and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit within me, that I CAN trust it!

The Lord has graciously revealed to me that: He IS God; it IS His will that His written word (the Bible) is accurate and we can trust it. Today I declare to you that the Bible IS the living, written word of God! Believe it! Much of the New Testament quotes directly from the Old Testament. Consider that Jesus Himself quoted Old Testament (Torah) scripture over 2,000 years ago during His temptations in the wilderness just before He began His earthly ministry! If it was good enough for Jesus it's good enough for me! An example, let's look up the three verses that Jesus quoted above, they are in the Old Testament today just the same as they were when He would have recited them from a Torah during the time he was here in human form. He gave satan the condensed version but the *spirit* of the words are the same!
Mat 4:4 "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
Deu 8:3 "And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live."

Mat 4:7 "Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God."
Deu 6:16 "Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted [him] in Massah."

Mat 4:10-11 "Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."
Deu 6:13 "Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name."
Even the Dead Sea scrolls, discovered between the years 1947 and 1956, have much of the Old Testament writings in tact! Ancient documents as they are they match what we have today, many of them WORD FOR WORD! So if anyone tells you the Bible is not the true, living word of God today, it's a satanic deception my friends. Satan will try everything he can to make you doubt that God can do anything, such as get His written word down to us in tact today. Do your homework. Search the Bible yourself. Don't just believe what you hear, for in so doing you are doing the will of your father on earth ... satan, the devil.

A final word about evolution (which doesn't really deserve space here) ... remember, it's a THEORY, or a religion (believed by the blinded masses to be true) but not proven, it cannot be proven because it's a lie. You should not be placing the teachings of it above and beyond the God you serve, and the writings He left to guide you in your daily walk with Him! At least with creation we have documents dating back thousands of years. Evolution is relatively *new* in comparison ... it's satan's deceptive mission to get your focus off of God ... remember that! If you are under the impression satan cannot tempt people today, he has no influence and does not bother with mankind, read this:
Job 1:6-7 "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou?
Then Satan answered the LORD, and said,
From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it
."

The 'sons of God', including satan, are angelic and they have
access to heaven & God, AND to earth, even today,
and again we see him pacing (looking for whom to devour)
Job 2:1-2
"Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD,
and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou?
And Satan answered the LORD, and said,
From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it
."

I pray you have eyes to see, and ears to hear ... in Jesus' name ... amen!
