Some claim that the Holy Spirit *arrived* to the earth at Pentecost and was not here before then, nor will He be here after we are *raptured*. This is incorrect theology. The Holy Spirit is given to any person who gives their life to God in faith. Before God came to us in human form (as the man Jesus), He came to His chosen as Jesus in His pre-human form ... I have no idea what a glorious state that was, but I'm sure His current resurrected state is even more glorious! As you will see by the passages below, there are many mentions of the Spirit of God and how He was with man and IN men that God called. He (God's Holy Spirit) has been, and always will be, WITH us (God's people), now and forever and ever.
Isa 59:21 As for me, this [is] my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that [is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
The Holy Spirit is God's *seal* upon His people (us, His believers). It is by His Spirit that we will be resurrected into our new bodies at the Lord's return.
2Cr 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
The people of the church era from Pentecost until the Lord's return are NOT the only people sealed & redeemed, I'm sure you know that. All the prophets, judges, and those that believed God throughout the ages and that have His Spirit within will be resurrected on the day the Lord returns. It's not just about the church today but the church throughout time. Dare we say that Moses or David will not be resurrected when we are? Or those people that have believed God throughout the ages? Do your own research please ... the Holy Spirit is all over the OT, not just the NT. The Lord's Spirit ~the Holy Spirit~ has been working in and with mankind from the beginning, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You can read it for yourself in the scriptures! As to the Holy Spirit being taken out of the way (when the church is *raptured*) that is another article. I can assure you though, that if we are raptured and there are some people *left behind* that do come to the Lord thereafter ... they too will get the Holy Spirit as He is the only One God has given us as a Mentor and Comforter, at least until Jesus returns for His 1000 year reign. Personally I don't believe the Lord will leave anyone behind, as I've written in other articles.
Beware the preacher or prophet that doesn't teach from God's word:
Eze 13:3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!Thanks for reading ;o}
God bless you!
