I support Israel!
I was reading my bible today, as I so often do. I was reading Isaiah 53, among other chapters in Isaiah, when I realized that I've not thanked you Israel. I have so very much to be thankful to you for! Please allow me to do that now, in all sincerity I wish to thank you Israel, the chosen people of our God ...
Thank you for our Fathers ... Abraham, Isaac & Jacob!
Thank you for our Holy Word of God ... our history, our Bible!
Thank you for the prophets!
Thank you for our Lord & Savior, our Messiah ... Jesus (the Christ), a Jew!
Thank you for being His chosen people and for giving us our faith's founding fathers ... the 12 apostles, and Paul, every one of them an Israeli!
Thank you for preserving holy sites in the land of God, Israel, that we may come and enjoy them (although I've not yet been)!
Thank you for your perseverence in the face of adversity & persecution all around you, you are in my prayers!
Now if I may do something for you, those of you that don't know that Jesus IS the Lord, the Messiah as foretold in the book of Isaiah 53 ... let me quote that entire chapter for you. Please read it for yourselves. Get a New Testament bible, or a bible with both Old & New Testaments in it ... and study it, you will see (God willing) that Isaiah 53 has been fullfilled!
Isa 53:1
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Isa 53:2
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him.
Isa 53:3
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isa 53:4
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa 53:5
But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isa 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isa 53:7
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Isa 53:8
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
Isa 53:9
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither [was any] deceit in his mouth.
Isa 53:10
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Isa 53:11
He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Isa 53:12
Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
That was written by your prophet Isaiah, about our Lord Jesus, and was fullfilled in Him. The *good news* is that Jesus has resurrected and is with our Father God in heaven. He wants ALL to come to Him because ...
Jhn 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Please, think for yourselves, and study God's word, in it's entirety! You will see that Jesus IS the Messiah! If just one of you comes to know the Lord because of this article it will well have been worth my time to write it. But even more so, my sincere gratitude for all that you, the chosen people of God, have done for us Christians ... there will come a time when you will know and you will mourn that you did not know sooner, a sad time for you yes, but we are here for you, please remember that! Here's what your prophet Zechariah said (the time is yet future) ...
Zech 12:10
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.
Zech 12:11
In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
If you want to see how these quoted passages, from the prophets of old, could possibly relate to Jesus' life & death, you need to read both the Old & the New Testaments as they are locked together. In particular though, from the New Testament a good book to start with is the ... Gospel of John. Another good New Testament chapter you should read is from Romans 11. And now I pray for you as did our patriach Moses ...
Num 6:24
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
Num 6:25
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
Num 6:26
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
